Our UCE Bearcats enjoyed a wonderful performance of "Winnie the Pooh" by the very talented UTMS theatre students today! We want to extend a BIG thank you to our UCE PTO for providing the book for each family. We would also like to give a big thanks to Mr. Hanaway, Mr. Ells, and Mrs. Hankins for bringing this dream to life! Go, Bearcats!

Former NFL linebacker Steve Grant visited UCE today, inspiring students with a powerful message: "You’re not a born winner or loser. You’re a born CHOOSER!" He talked about academic excellence, goal setting, and the power of helping others without expecting anything in return. His impactful words left students motivated to make positive choices and work toward their dreams.

Our UCE Bearcats were ready for blast off enjoying the Digitarium (portable planetarium), where they got to explore the night sky with constellations. They also traveled to the planets and moons in our solar system. Thank you to our Tech teacher, Mrs. Anderson and our High Ability teacher, Mrs. Asher for helping to make this happen!





Spirit Week Next Week: In honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday and Read Across America Week, we will be having a spirit week March 3rd-7th. Flyers with the themes will go home with students tomorrow. To go along with the theme of fostering a love of reading, all money collected will go toward purchasing the One School, One Book title for next year. Thank you!

Our UCE Robotics team is up early and demonstrating their engineering skills at the Robotics competition at Col. Wheeler Middle School. Go, Bearcats!






Due to extreme cold temperatures, UTSC will be on an eLearning day Tuesday, January 21. Building principals will be sending out additional details including how parents of elementary students may pick up Chromebooks.

Mrs. Baxley's 1st grade class at UCE embarked on a hands-on exploration of historical artifacts, guessing the uses of each item from the past. With Mrs. Baxley's encouragement, students worked collaboratively to spark their curiosity and uncover the stories behind these intriguing objects.






Join us as our UCE PTO sponsors a UCE Skating Night at Central Park Plaza Ice Rink in Valparaiso this Wednesday night from 6-8 p.m. A portion of the proceeds earned that night will go to our PTO. Come on out and have some fun!

Our UCE 4th and 5th grade choir visited Rittenhouse Village in Portage to spread holiday cheer by singing Christmas carols. Go, Bearcats!

UTMS Principal, Mr. Ells, spread some holiday cheer by visiting Mrs. Parks' 3rd graders at UCE to share his favorite festive read, A Wish to be a Christmas Tree!
