Award-winning author Shannon Anderson met with students at UCE to talk with them about how she turned her love of writing into a career as a teacher and author. She inspired our Bearcats to set goals and follow their dreams. Students who ordered a book were given one autographed and with a message from her!
Our amazing UCE kitchen staff cooked up something special for our Bearcats today! They enjoyed a special Thanksgiving lunch with special decorations!

For anyone interested in joining Cub Scouts, there will be a Cub Scout Join Night meeting at UCE on Wed., Nov. 20th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in our cafeteria. They will also be doing a brief presentation for students during lunches on Nov. 19th. We hope to see you next Wed. night!
UCE took time to honor our veterans with a wonderful breakfast and Veterans Day program. Thank you to our PTO, VFW Post 988, UCE Choir, Isaac Rios and Clayton Holland from WHS, and our students and staff for making our program a wonderful celebration for our heroes!

UCE Kindergarteners are blasting off into STEM! Today in Mrs. Anderson's Tech class, they created their own straw rockets, learning the science of flight and having a blast while doing it!
UCE 5th graders researched and created incredible biomes for everyone to explore and learn from hallway displays!
Explore, Create, Innovate ~ Bearcats in STEM! We started our 4th Grade STEM fieldtrips to WHS. Our Engineering Course students extended student learning by making student posters interactive through a playdough circuit. What a great experience for all of our Bearcats!

Wheeler Basketball & HangBanners are hosting the 8th Annual Bearcat Holiday Craft Show in Wheeler High School Fieldhouse on Saturday, November 16 from 9-3. In addition, this year we are having bounce houses, inflatable games, putt putt golf, & professional face painting at the craft show for the kids. We are having a Presale for Wristbands which gives all access to the bounce houses, inflatable games & putt putt golf for only $8.
The Presale is from Nov. 6 - Nov. 13. Please cut off the bottom slip of the attached flyer and turn the completed slip with cash or check payable to Union Township Athletic Club in a sealed envelope (labeled child’s name/Craft Show) to their teacher or school Secretary, Mrs. Roberts! They will pick up their wristband at the craft show. In the back of Wheeler HS fieldhouse, by the bounce houses, they will check in at the table with their name & get their wristband.

Fifth grade UCE students in Mrs. Asher's class are being critical thinkers while working on Snap Circuit Home kits. They build circuits from lighting to motion sensors in a house structure. They have to read the diagrams in the kits and use their understanding of electrical circuits.

UTSC announces change in November Board Meeting date. A special board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 6 at 6:15 PM. The regular board meeting will be on Thursday, November 14 beginning at 7:00 PM. Both meetings are scheduled to be held in Union Township Middle School Commons.
