Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education from Valparaiso University. I did my Senior Student Teaching Block at Pine’s Elementary in LaPorte, Indiana. As a Junior at Valparaiso University, I did my Junior Student Teaching Block at SELF school in Valparaiso.

I live in Valparaiso with my son, whom is a Junior at Andrean High School in Merrillville.   I was raise in a small town called Baroda, Michigan 15 miles south of St. Joseph/Benton Harbor, Michigan. And I moved to Valparaiso at 18 and have lived here ever since.

I began teaching here in Union Township in 1984. This is my 30th year of teaching in Union Township. I have taught 7th, 6th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, and currently 1st grade. This is my 6th year teaching first grade. Each grade level has it’s advantages and the diversity has helped me see the requirements that are expected prior to entering that level. As a first grade teacher, it is clearer to me the standards and expectations needed for second and older grades because I have taught those grade levels. The experience leads me to give a rich experience in my class.

My hobbies are sewing, embroidery, scrapbooking, knitting, and crocheting. I love to write cards to friends and I enjoy snail mail. My weekends often means a breakfast at Suzie’s and Mass at St. Bridget. I enjoy a good mystery novel and often find my nose in Southern Lady Magazine.
